How to resolve when there is an error in the DNS Server and it's not responding?

Understanding the causes of the DNS Server Errors

Before coming to the solution let's first understand what is the cause of this problem.

  • Improperly configured DNS records can also lead to errors in the DNS server. This occurs when users don’t put in the correct IP address during the recording process.

  • Another problem of unavailable DNS providers.

  • Heavy traffic and server outages can also stop DNS service from working properly.

  • Malfunctioning of the router or modem can also cause errors in DNS. For this, you have to switch the ethernet ports or use different ethernet cables to figure out whether your router is causing the DNS problem.

  • Another cause is hardware or network issues. Sometimes hardware or network failures can cause DNS server errors. Here a single server fails to relay the information to the next server correctly.

Some ways to troubleshoot DNS issues-

1. Network Problems

You have to troubleshoot the network problems. For this, you have to run network diagnostics to fix the DNS server error. It helps in diagnosing and troubleshooting all detected network issues and errors without many complications.

2. Connecting to a different device

You can connect to a different device on the same home network and access the site that has DNS issues. If the other device is not having the same problem then the problem is in your own device. You can also use more devices to visit that website to figure out if there is an issue with your router or not. You can use your mobile’s data in this case.

3. Use another web browser

Another solution is to visit the website from a different web browser. If this method works then you have to update your browser to its newest version or delete it and then reinstall it. If the DNS issue is still not resolved then there is not an issue with your browser.

4. Try restarting your PC

In order to troubleshoot DNS issues you also have to check your operating system. To figure out this issue you have to restart your computer in a safe mode. A stripped-down version of your operating system will limit the amount of resources used for running your device.

5. Restart your modem or router

One of the causes of DNS issues is a malfunctioning router or modem. You can fix this by clearing the cache of your router or modem.
